Diploma (Flexible Learning Day) 19.11.09

Where Do I Start...

Well today was flexible learning day but it weren't like the other it was even better!

Our theme today was indian/bollywood dancing music. Two professional Indian muscisians came into our school today to teach us the basics on how to make an Indian beat. We are going to use the beat we make up to perform our bollywood dance to later on in the term.

First we met them & gave us introduction they also peformed to us a little sample of Indian music. The intruments they used for this were a tabla & a shitar. Afterwards they split the class into three groups percussion, voices & instrumentals. I was in the percussion group were we were taught some indian singing words "Dha Ghe Na Ti Na Ke Dhi Na". In that group we used a variety of drums. At fourth lesson all the groups got together we listened to what we all had got up to then discussed a way to put all three groups pieces together. When got that all organised we practised it over & over again to get the best sounds.

At fifth lesson we gathered up again to record it. The instruments we used were bongos, dholaki, tabla, african drums, keyboards, shitar, dulcima, violin & saxaphones. When we had done recording it we listened to it. I thought it was really good.

I rEally Enjoyed Myself ... Today Was Really Fun! =D
