Winter !!!Tuesday 3rd November 2009)

Heyy Guys !

It's A new term at school & our diploma theme is ''winter".

All the Diploma Students Were Split In Two To Groups. One Group Will Do Media(Photography) & art(artefact: sculpture or mosaic), whilst the other group do dance & drama.

I was chosen to do drama & dance. In drama we are doing A pantomine there are 16 students In my class so our teacher put us into groups of 8. Each group is doing a different panto. Group A (which I am in) are doing a play called Dick Whittington and his Crazy Cat. Group B are doing a play on Cinderella. We will be performing these play at a range of local primary schools.

My group & I looked through the cast & picked who was playin who. I am playing Dick. I can't wait for these road trips. After that we ran through the script, we all enjoyed it. Next we thought about our costumes and props. Our conclusion was that we would all wear black leggings & a black t- shirt on top of that we would wear bits & bobs that would represent our character.

In the afternoon we had dance. The last week of the autumn term we had a flexible learning day. On this day all the diploma students got together and composed 3 pieces of music based on winter. We used A variety of instruments for example keyboard & steel pans...
Getting back to dance our teacher had given given group A & B one of the music pieces to listen to. The song she chose for each group were the songs we had to make up dances to. In our groups we had to brainstorm on themes that were linked with winter. Also we made a brainstorm on thisngs that reminda us of winter e.g snow, hat, scarf & gloves, christmas presents & hot chocolate.

After all the group work we went onto our individual work. Our task was to look up some images that remind you of winter. Finally we had to select our four favourite it was so hard for me because i loved all of them.

I Really enjoyed today. I think this term will be fun because there is a lot of group work & most of the people i rarely work with. So it will be interesting to hear new ideas.
